Have a great time, guys(*cough*[size=75:3nz8ki8l]article[/size:3nz8ki8l]*cough*). And good luck to all ICB-ers in the competition.

I thought you were planning on going, no?

I had been hoping to go, but organising transport proved logistically difficult (thankyouverymuch Irish Rail). As it turned out I wouldn't have been able to go anyway, since I have to go to Cork tomorrow for a work thingy.

Next year, perhaps.

Well, I know where I'll definitely be going this time next year. What a fab little pub, and a great afternoon/night. Thanks to Alison for her hospitality, and organising the event.
I got co-opted onto the judging panel for the home-brew competition, and man that was a tough job! I also got 'volunteered' to do an article, so I'll try and piece together something later.
Níall won first prize, but there was some stiff competition, not least from local brewer Jon. He wasn't there himself, but had a pale ale and best bitter in the competition, and another ale "Brian Brew" on cask behind the bar for the festival. I had a good chat with his able assistant/chief taster who was there to represent him.
Along with Brian Brew, and the regular Rusty (on 7 days a week for the last two years, as Alison proudly announced) there was also Messers Imperial Stout on cask. Galway Hooker, O'Hara's Stout and Purgatory kegs, and a wide selection of bottles were the pick of the beers available.
