Would there be anything particularly hard about putting beer in a cask for the fest?
I think ill be going as it was the best beerfest ive been to, the quality of the casks last year was incredible.[/quote:anqn5yii]

Some beer just doesn't work in cask either and it'd be worse, imo, to just throw any beer into a cask and sell it hoping for the best. Would love to be going myself.[/quote:anqn5yii]

I don't think this is a relevant consideration (though I don't disagree with Shane's reasoning on this). It's true that not every beer does well on cask, but a cask festival is a cask festival. Flooding the festival with non-cask beers would turn it into something different. There are other festivals in the calendar for different beer types.

It was always a winter and cask fest Andrew. People took little notice before of the keg as it was out weighed 20 to one with cask. Showcasing the new guys is a one off. They are finding it really hard now to get tap space in bars . I feel I have been extremely lucky with the well and understand how hard it is to break in. Where else will you get many members of national home brew club, beoir, reporters, publicans and off trade people in one spot. I stayed in this business for so long because of the community spirit working together is the way forward

i see your point about being flooded but this will be in the upstairs bar at an open fourm sytle of talk for each brewery. each will be given a slot, i will post up here and in the nhbc site and send out to the local papers.some will be looking for advice on which beer to run with of a particular style while others will be showcasing some fantastic beers that will be released soon
