not sure about Greenwich itself apart from the Greenwich Union (one of the Meantime pubs). You could venture into Blackheath (next door to Greenwich) and try the Hare & Billet. I've only been there once but they had an excellent range of cask and keg ales as well as ciders and perry. There's also the Zero Degrees brewpub and The Railway in Blackheath which should have a few decent options.

if you're going to be wandering around the city at any point then you could download the Craft Beer London app which is great for highlighting pubs with good beer. I think it's about £3. The ratings tend to be awarded solely on the range of beer available rather than whether it's a good pub or not but it's still a very useful app.

and if you felt really adventurous then hop on the DLR in Greenwich and go to Lewisham - the Ravensbourne Arms will have a good selection.

Heading to London on Friday, so looking for recommendations for good beer. I'm a fairly regular visitor to London, and have always religiously gone to the Kernel and usually the rake, and recently brewdog in Camden and a few other various places.

I'm considering giving the Kernel a skip this time, as it was so busy the last time I was there, that I spent most of the time queuing, and I just feel that I am probably missing out on some other great places, plus it is now closing at 2, so feel that I would be rushing to get there earlier than I would necessarily want to.

So, does anyone have any other recommendations of an area where I might hit 2 or 3 really good spots? I'm really mostly into super hoppy beers, so probably not interested in anything too traditional.

There are lots of new breweries in the Bermondsey area, though I suspect they'd all have the same problems as Kernel.

In the vicinity of King's Cross there's the Euston Tap, Queen's Head and Craft Beer Co., with The Parcel Yard available if you get any traditional urges.
