The black sheep gets 2 thumbs up from me! very happy with the spot, the smell of paint and the fake books I'm not sure about but it's a good spot and I wasn't just won over by the Helvick on cask! good work black sheep men! and a small mention to the Dungarvan lads for always ensuring there is a cask available! It's a niche I applaud...

Padraic will definitely be back!!! Probably as early as tomorrow if someone will drink with me <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

Great beer selection but I'm not sure about the decor. Looks a bit like a country kitchen but the beer available is great. I treated myself to Sierra Nevada Northern Harvest, Brew Dog Punk, 5 AM Saint and of the always great Metal Man.
All good.
Great turn out for an opening night. we were lucky and managed to get a table after about 2 mins.

Me Likey.

Nigel.

Having not been in yet, the description of the furniture sounds like The Oslo, which I like.
Will find out this weekend. Actually anyone know if they open in the afternoon at weekends?

I enjoyed my visit. Things were a bit hectic for the first night with the place being really busy. This made the noise level quite high making it hard to hear people speak. Maybe some soft furnishings might calm it a bit. I enjoyed my Helvick Gold on cask, Metalman and Hooker and I'm delighted to see the place open, 'tis a great addition to the improving beer scene in Dublin.

We call that 'New Bar Smell'...

Any reservations I might have about the layout/decor are minor when the larger picture is considered: [b:1rr0fhiq]We have another craft beer pub!!![/b:1rr0fhiq] It was great to be able to get Metalman (and Punk IPA) on tap. I was going to nick the Metalman pint glass but Tim was watching me. I look forward to the arrival of the added cask engines (unverified story is that Franciscan are currently hoarding them all), so I guess we'll all be back after the 10th...

All for choice, and it's great to have a new one, and they are really making an effot, but not a perfect 10 this time.

Far too noisy. Need some soft surfaces to deaden things a bit. I couldn't hear people sitting beside me at the same table. I came home hoarse from shouting.

Jacks floor soaking wet and quite slippy. I told them about it and they mopped up, but it made no difference. I don't know where the water is coming from but that's an accident waiting to happen.

Bay Porter was completely dead. Virtually no carbonation at all. I'm sure it's not supposed to be that dead. It makes Dark Arts look like Coca-cola.

Other than that great, I will be back!
