Draught Paulaner

Taps of Paulaner are cropping up at a ferocious rate in Dublin pubs. While having an alternative to Guinness is always welcome, the beer doesn't seem to taste nice at all on draught. Has anyone else noticed this? Could it just be psychological? Maybe it's the bottle conditioning which gives the non draught version a lift. Anyway, very disappointing.

I for one welcome our new insect overlords, I mean, Paulaner.

I had a pint in Dicey Reilly's in Harcourt Street, not known for the quality of its beer, and there was not a thing wrong with it.

The Paulaner rep is really earning his/her money. Everywhere seems to have Paulaner menu boards suddenly.

Seems to have sprung up overnight.

Isn't Paulaner now owned by Heineken? Might explain why it's being distributed widely. It's a welcome addition.

Paulaner was part of the Heineken group of beers tasted at The Vaults so it's got some serious marketing weight behind it.

Nice to see it around, with Erdinger and Hoegaarden available in a few places it might give the incentive to Dublin Vintners to take up other beers
