I'll be in Galway at the weekend and I'm looking for the "must go to pub guide" for craft beer.
Galway Hooker seems to be widely available so I'm looking for pubs that have other options also
I've looked in the directory and my list so far is
Those 3 are the main ones that I know of. I would add the kings head though. It has hooker on tap but it's a fine pub in it's own right. Pity sheridans is gone, unless they got their new premesis sorted?
Yup, those 3 are good.. they're all owned by the same people.
The Quays on Shop St and the Front Door across the road are landmark pubs. Not sure if either serve any decent beer tho, and the Quays is more of a superpub now.

Look closely and you can see the Hooker paddle on the bar <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
Good to know thanks.
I wonder us that the project now or do they still plan on replacing sheridans...
No mention on their fb or twitter or website for that matter.

Actually the Bierhaus are separate owners.
The Oslo/Salthouse people also have a restaurant called Mustard down by the riverside that's very nice and does a good selection of beers.
Worth going to for some between pub grub or ya can just eat in the Oslo.
I wouldn't bother with Front Door or Quays tbh. Don't stock anything of interest at all, just the usual macro stuff in any other pub plus they're usually wedged and woefully uncomfortable.
Also O'Connells in Eyre Square has an ok selection plus it's a pretty cool bar, good mix of the old and new and the place to be is their beergarden on a sunny day.
