All,

where do ye buy yizzer quality ales for home consumption? I have a dry shed at the minute and won't have it restocked for a few weeks, so the occasional good quality beer needs to be sourced. Where have ye found range and quality?
My local superquinn is limited but does have SNPA, O'Hara's, the Porterhouse range and occasionally London Pride, and many moons ago I worked for Molloy's liquor stores, though since Eurobeers hit the shit the range fell away quite badly.
Perhaps there is some hidden gem I don't know about in south Dublin that will reveal to me wonders and put me in mind of my 17year old self sampling La Trappe for the first time <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Hi Dan,

South Dublin has two first-rate off licences in Deveney's of Dundrum and Redmond's of Ranelagh.

Good offies are the green pins on this map[/url:3ps6n83a].

Thread over! Cheers TBN.

I can back that up. I recently changed jobs and both are essentially on the way home from work.

Which is great.

Mostly.

Interestingly, Redmonds have 4 Dungarvan for a tenner these days. Sweet.

Am I alone in thinking that there's a reluctance in off-licences stocking Irish beers other than the usuals? ie. off-licences that might stock a few decent bottles like say a Molloys? I was in one there today and didn't see any Irish micros.

You can get lots of decent imports from only two or three wholesalers. Irish beers mostly need to be ordered from the brewery, who don't do other beers.
