Very good point.
My local used to get in O'Haras a few years ago and when he stopped he said that the fella he was dealing with never came back to him. I think he deals with one particular supplier for his good beers.
so is there an opportunity for someone to specialise in representing all the irish micros and supply to the off-license trade. Cos there are a good few now.

I'd assume so. With cooperation with and between the breweries it should be possible.
I'm sure if there was one distributor a small(er) off-licence had to deal with to get the Irish micros more would take the chance. Especially in those places where they're starting to get in some "world" beers ie. non-Diageo/pissy stuff.
O'Haras seems to be a staple of O'Brien's "world beer/other" section separated away from the pissy and Diageo stuff. Setting up distribution networks can't be easy though.
I popped in to the local Molloys off licence at the weekend, and was surprised to find Porterhouse Brain Blasta and Porterhouse Red on the shelves. I was told that the rest of the Porterhouse bottled range would be joining them shortly. Now that's progress!
