The infuriating thing is that restaurants won't list beers, even when they have good ones, or if they do they won't get any tasting notes as you'd see on a wine list. What's with that?

Here[/url:vhnfv7lu]'s the online menu of The Exchequer -- a bar-restaurant that's putting a bit of effort in with the beers (Belfast Blonde on tap -- yum). See if you can find the beer, any beer, mentioned.

You wod be surprised how many times an offer of training or notes is given and how seldomly it is taken up. In fact, even the places where notes are sent to don't always use said notes.

Where you see an educated, excited wine list you will frequently see an educated, excited sommelier. More often than not, mangers and owners see beer as an after thought rather than an accompanyment or draw. This
is changing, but slowly.

Yeah, i hear you there.

I was in a bar last night and asked for a pint of Hooker. Once i calmed the barman down i pointed at the tap and got what i ordered, funny.

In fairness to the exchequer they do mention it on the menu, granted a little obliquely but that's not the challenge you posed!
"Ling fingers battered in “Hilden Belfast Blonde” battered ling fingers with pea puree"

do they have anything else interesting? obviuosly couldn't find that out with(see your original point)

Ahh not really. Nothing that'd make it a serious contender alongside the Porterhouses and Bull & Castle. But the food's good. And I intend to make more use of the Pie & A Pint €15 special.
