Nice one and fair play to them. Considering the size of the town it shows some balls.

Hi Lads, Joe here from The Miller's Loft. Just to let you know we have 20 beers on the menu now, full list on the website. Selling pretty well, bought a lot of glassware and beer signs etc. to advertise. Getting a lot of [i:a2adifda]"I normally drink Miller to coors light... what do you have that's nearest to that?"[/i:a2adifda] Hope I'm not been over optimistic, any advise would be appreciated.
Regards,
Joe

well I find that brooklyn lager seems to do very well among non beery people, I haven't met anyone yet that didn't like it. It is a good route in to hoppier pale ales. same goes for coopers pale ale, and maybe the hilden blondes since they're fairly mild, and of course the whitewater lager and blonde (do they have both or am I misremembering?), not the most exciting, but a good start, and once you have them there the road is open for sierra nevada pale ale, hooker, trouble etc.

the problem is people who only drink coors etc (especially women) have this weird stigma about anything darker than very pale orange, they assume it will make them very fat and very drunk, even though a pint of heineken has about half as many calories again as guinness (256 compare to 170, according to <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="caloriecount.about.com/">caloriecount.about.com/)

anyway rant over. keep it pale, and not too bitter and you should get them involved!
