Gah, I'm no [b:2rtagteb]unionist[/b:2rtagteb]. Now if you will excuse me I have to go and listen to the cricket on BBC Radio 4, while drinking some Tetleys tea.

Seriously, it is all part of the fun going to English pubs, I always ask for a pint of local.[/quote:2rtagteb]

Oops sorry for that curt reply. I didn't mean to come across like that.

I love the British pubs where you can stroll in and ask what's local on cask. I'm all for that! I was just saying that what you described is more or less how it is in many a British pub and I'd much rather than over our monotonous macros

I didn't mean to sound like I was running the lads down. They do indeed have a great product that I'm sure would be a national success if they developed the distribution network a bit more. As some of the other contributors have already said if I walked into my local and hooker was on draught I would be over the moon too..... I'm really really tired of Smithwicks at this stage

You said it, I love going for a couple of pints and a chat with the lads or the other half, the only problem is that I have to drink guiness which might (on a good day) leave me mildely satisfies, I would love a pint of hooker in my local ...... and right now!!!

It looks like the challenge now is not getting beers like O'Hara's and Hooker into pubs but getting them into MORE pubs before trying to get other beers into anywhere!!

I'd be very surprised if the likes of Galway Hooker at €4 a pint didn't outsell Smithwicks and other shite beers if it was rolled out in more pubs.

Oh I totally agree. I went into Murray's on O'Connell St earlier and said to the barman "pint of the house beer please" to which his reply was "no bother". Great stuff. Gotta get it in more places though.

It would be a best seller...I even know lager drinkers who would gladly switch to Hooker given the chance and that's saying something
