Cheers guys. I had a beer in King Tuts that was just labeled "King Tuts Lager". IT was served in a "WEST" branded glass. Tasted awful, tasted like vinegar <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->

I'll hit a few of them pubs up later. You don't seem to get much stout over here. It's all Guinness Extra Cold! There's an Oirish bar called Failte that has loads of Murphys signs but not a drop of the actual drink.

I spent a few weeks working there and most evenings were spent in the Ben Nevis, near to Kelvingrove Park. If memory serves, they did a lovely pint of Bitter & Twisted on draft.

Here's a Google Maps link...

Yeah Failte's nice enough. Damn shame about them Murphys signs though!

Ye know, I'd love to be able to find a stout that isn't a bloody Guinness! (and certainly not "extra cold"). The best I can do so far is Murphys from Waxy O'Connors of Queen St. Their taps all say "Extra Cold" on them but the Murphys tasted fairly standard temp to me.

Is the whole of Britain monopolised by Guinness when it comes to stout/porter?
