A bottle of Ritz for the lac, eh? Not all ladies want white wine. I find that in most pubs the wine selection is as awful as the beer selection anyway. Most women I know like Duvel, hoegaarden and those strong Belgian pale ales. I think it would help with women's perception of beer a lot if it came in something other than big pints. I don't like those tulip shaped half pint glasses at all either, they seem to dull the taste of whatever beer you're drinking.
It makes me really angry[/url:3j118hy8] when I see beer brewed for women with all the taste removed[/url:3j118hy8]. I think most women just think they don't like beer as all they can get to taste here is dodgy lager and when they try something different they usually find a style they like. I think a lot of women would like lambic beer like Cantillon as it's fresh and sour in the same way wine is but you never see anyone recommending that they try it. This is getting a bit long but as one of the ladies of ICB I thought I'd have to go on a bit.
Our local pub recently re-opened after a refit and I think it does very well on the beer menu. I think it has the minimum that all pubs should have. It has Porterhouse plain, erdinger, paulaner and a few non standard lagers on draught. Then it has a beer menu with one or two bottled beers from different countries. Duvel, Affligem, Tyskie, Spitfire, Bishop's Finger, Budvar, Pilsner Urquell etc.
I wonder why more pubs don't stock one or two of those bottled beers. It doesn't take much room to have one shelf of a fridge devoted to them and you're not losing too much if they go out of date.
