Ryan's do indeed have Blarney Blonde, but unfortunately the last time we popped in about 3 weeks ago, it was flat and didn't seem to be being kept well. Hooker was also off - wasn't long after St Patricks Day so hopefully just sold out. Agree that it's a beautiful building though...

Brazen Head was a disappointment for us on our holiday last week. Staff couldn't figure out when they would open, when they were open they had no idea if and when the 1st floor restaurant would be open, bar food was passable but service was sub-par, and in the evening it was a bunch of tourists of the ignorant (but not necessarily ugly) American variety.

After one evening's venture into the Brazen Head that saw us not even find a seat and leave again in a couple of minutes, we strolled across to O'Shea's Merchant (the pub, not the restaurant). We doubled the crowd there when we entered, but it filled in quickly with a definitely local crowd. One of the better nights we had in Dublin (nothing compared to the B&C meet-up, though).
