Love this spot, definitely gonna become one of my usual haunts. two great beer bars in cork now, both with very knowledgeable staff and owners. i was particularly impressed with the range of glassware on offer (well that and the range of beer). got to try some more trappist and abbey beers, also had some apertifs that barry is promoting at the moment had one that made a pint of Bavaria bearable and made it taste like the softdrink Tanora. Really Great Bar with a fairly decent library of beer books including Barry's Belgian Bible listing the charachteristics and major ingredients of approx 750 Belgian Beers (in three languages).

Sounds like a great spot, is there any intention of stocking Irish craft beers (especially on draught)?

In the Abbot last Friday. Had a few lovely drinks including Youngs chocolate Stout off the shelf and a pint of Hommelbeer - what a superb beerj. Only had it in bottle before but boy was it superb. At present they have Hommel, Friar Weisse, Bavaria and a cherry and raspberry beers from Brussels on draught (i would skip the last too - too sweet for me). The Firar weissse was flowing well last Fridaya

I also popped into the off licence and picked up my first bottle of o'haraa's leann follain, and also a Single Brew Reserve 4.5% bottlc conditioned ale from Sharp's Brewery, Rock, Cornwall - enver heard of it berore but it looks like one to put down for a while. Brewed in December 2008 and expiry date 1/2011. Also picked up a bottle of Okells Aile, frorm the Isle of man, a smoked celtic porter at 4.7%, sounds very interesting and look forward to opening it in the near future.

Also had a v.good selection of other UK beers and US beers including quite a few from the Speakeasy brewery san Francisco and Big Daddy IPA. Have not tried any of these yet.

A most enjoyable trip I must say!!!!

Abbotts' selection of beers at the moment is superb. New beers I picked up included some SN Torpedo IPA, Hop Devil & Hop Wallop (both from Victory) and Geuze Mariage Parfait.
