Been noticing the price of pints gradually rising in Dublin. Went to the Squareball and pints of Hopfully were €6.20 and then I paid €6 for 330ml a can of Whiplash session pale ale. Went to the Gasworks next where pints can be got for €5 with the Beoir vouchers although Galway Bay prices are generally high, especially with the smaller measures.

So anyone any recommendations for good value pinting in Dublin? Aware of Porterhouse’s beer of the day for €4.50.

JW Sweetman does pints for under a fiver with a loyalty card. You can get a card by buying a tasting tray, IIRC. Their full prices aren't steep anyway. Cask pints are €5 in Underdog.

Galway Bay developed a reputation for being expensive but other places have really caught up and they're often among the cheaper options now.

Galway Bay seems to have gone crazy with some of the pints they pour. Was in Black Sheep last week and they had 330ml of Green Machine for 6.30! The same in Tesco can be bought in a can for 2.50.
When they pulled out the 330ml glass I thought there was a mistake as its a 5% Pale ale, But nope that's the price they wanted to charge.

Good prices in Sweetmans yeah but have found their beers to be just ok recently. Not usually anything to write home about.

The porter is one of the best in regular production, IMO.
