I picked up some insider information at the Well.
The one pub in question is Tara's in Ballina.

Tara seems a very determined publican, and much to the astonishment of MM (or whatever the name is) insists on ordering Rusty by the cask.
And the other five pubs? One pub in each of the next five villages up the coast of Lough Derg. The idea being that your English/German tourist over on a boating holiday starting off in Ballina/Killaloe, as a lot of them do, can enjoy a pint of Rusty on cask on each of their stops as they cruise up the lake. This appears to be driven, and organised, by Tara herself. It may be seasonal, and tourist driven, but six rural pubs selling cask is a great step forward.

So, who's on for a cruise up the Shannon this summer?

Aye-aye, skipper.

Are you volunteering to be the designated helmsman?

Yes. I promise to stick to the rum. That [i:2e5xetwz]is [/i:2e5xetwz]what you mean, isn't it?

Blimey. Boat rental ain't cheap[/url:ryprgnb9]. There's gap in the market, Mr O'Leary.

It sure ain't. Friends of mine did a long weekend a couple of years ago. Six berths for three days works out around the €150 mark each.

If Mr. O'Leary got his greasy mits on it you would probably end up with famine ship conditions, and actually end up on the Suir, when you thought you would be heading to the Shannon.
