Some info from Jason on the new Galway Bay Brewery growlers which will be available later this week:

- For the moment it's Galway Bay beers only
- The empty growler will cost €11
- The price will be 40-50% less than the on-trade price
- They will fill any 64oz growler (if anyone can list the compatible ones, that would be handy)
- Beoir members may use up to three 50c discount tokens per fill

Might be handy for the long bus back to Derry. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

This was a question I was going to ask! Glad to hear the tokens are more useful for the lads who don't live near a GBB pub!

I hope my growler is 64 ounces!

A strange size, 64oz. I presume that it is US fl oz like the Sweetman's growlers, so 1.89litres. If a pint is 568ml, a refill should be between:

(50% to 60%) X (Price of pint)X(1892.71/568.26)

So 1.67 to 2 times the price of a pint. €5.50 for a pint of Full Sail I believe, therefore €9.19 - €11 for a growler fill, €1.50 less with vouchers. Not too bad. Is Sweetman's still a flat €12 (€10 for Beoir members)?

Sweetmans staff seem to think their growlers are 4 pints, at least they did when I was there. They're 4 US pints, or 3.3 imperial pints.

They also sourced them from the US when they could have gotten flip top growlers from Germany for less.

I doubt they went that far with the maths Brian.

As far as I know, the fill is still €10 for Beoir members. Has anyone filled one recently?
