TOPIC:

I think a "Beer Places"/"Beer Tourism" section of the forums would be really useful for the beer tourists among us.


The questions on "what are the good pubs/breweries/off licenses to visit at X?" are scattered all over the forums really.


If all this information is in one central place it might even help people prioritize where they should go for their next "beercation".

I generally ask those questions under Craft Beer, as I reckon it's craft beer I'm looking for. The thing about creating more and more sub-fora is that you get a lot of areas that get little traffic, and it looks bad. We had a few of those and consolidated a bunch of fora a year or so ago to make the thing more manageable (I can't recall if one of those was a beer travel forum). Still, if there's an interest, I think it could make a useful addition.

Yes, and TBN often sends people packing that direction <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> I like BeerMapping (but then, being involved in GIS I would) but I also like to get personal recommendations from people I trust (read ICBers).

I should point out that we do have a travel section on the main site which people can contribute articles to. This is very useful for giving people more descriptive runs through particular cities/beer tourist destinations. There hasn't been a new entry for some time now, so maybe people can think about writing something along the lines of "My Summer Holidays" <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

I will be heading to London in August and Italy in September so give me the rights to add stuff and I will do something up.
Actually I plan to go to the woolpack in the lake district (england) perhaps this month or next.
