On the other hand, there's a [i:wq0b4kdw]lot[/i:wq0b4kdw] of flexibility here -- that's the beauty of beer. There's a nice bit on the back of the Bull & Castle food menu which sets out the principles of beer matching, rather than strict specifications.

And, if in doubt: Brooklyn Lager.

The copy on Guinness Special Export needs some work. It's "Foreign Extra", not "Foreign Export" which it shouldn't be confused with, and it's been around a lot longer than 1945. The official history on <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.john-martin.be">www.john-martin.be gives 1912 as the commissioning date. Ron Pattinson mentions[/url:2srillbd] that it was being pasteurised as long ago as 1930, with Guinness setting up the machinery in Martin's bottling hall.

And that one hell of a price. It is not twice the beer that FES is.

I'd imagine it price might be because it has to be re-imported from Belgium....I am guessing!

Never drank it though. it is a bit pricey for me
