Hi Guys,
As some of you may know, my family and I have decided to move to Germany so I can persue a job oppertunity that came up in the past few months. My wife is German, and it's something we've talked about for about eight years now, so it got to a stage where we had to either shit or get off the pot. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="

" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> It wasn't an easy decision, for a variety of reasons, but it feels like the right thing to do, so we'll give it a go anyway. As someone said to me, life is not a rehersal. We'll probably be actually moving in March, so there's about 8 weeks to get things sorted out, and go for a few more beers in the B&C, and maybe even the PH for old times sake! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="

Our final destination will be the city of Münster[/url:2jif70qq], in North Rhein-Westfalia, home of the Pinkus Müller[/url:2jif70qq] brewery (which I had a beer in over Christmas). Official Website here[/url:2jif70qq], and some stuff off the European Beer Guide[/url:2jif70qq] which I will make good use of! It's a lovely city where the bicycle rules the road. If you want to watch a cheesy promo movie, have a look here[/url:2jif70qq]. It does make it appealing. It's also pretty close to the Belgian and Dutch borders, so I may have to learn our car reg in Flemish and pay a visit to St. Sixtus!
Needless to say, I may be a bit quiet during the move and the first month while I get set up there, but it does not mean an end to my role in ICB. Thanks to the wonders of the web, I still intend to continue to contribute to and develop the site over the coming years along with Séan and the great membership we've been building up. In fact, if I'm not too lazy there may be a few "letters from Germany" every so often.
The only thing that really worries me is that beer is so cheap over there I won't be able to make beer for less than I'd buy it! However, I reckon I'll be making robust Ales, IPAs, Porters and Stouts to fill a gap in the market <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="

So, I hope some of us can meet up for a couple of beers over the next few weeks. This month is good as my wife and son are still in Germany! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="
