I'm heading to Cornwall (Megavissey) next week on Hols. Does anyone have recommendations for pubs or breweries?

In case you're checking posts on your hols:

I'm just back from a week there myself, though it was at the other side of the county (Porth, beside NewQuay).

Was there last year too and during that holiday I visited the St.Austell Brewery and did the tour. £8 a pop (or was last year) but interesting. Plenty of included samples afterwards too. The Hicks Bar (attached) is decent. I highly recommend their Tribute ale and Proper Job IPA.

We went to Healey Cyder farm this year, and that was highly enjoyable. I'm not a big cider fan but their Cornish Rattler cider and its variants are very nice indeed.

Hope that helps,

Thanks Barry,

I did the St Austell tour on Sat when they were not brewing so it was a little tame. Enjoyed it though, especially the cask double IPA Big Job. I should have waited until later in the day!
Also called in to Skinners Brewery in Truro, I got very used to their Betty Stoggs while in Cornwall. Had it in their pub, The Old Ale House in town centre as well.
Had a quick tour of the Blue Anchor in Helston, home of Spingo Beers. One step up from homebrewing.

By the way a visit to River Cottage Plymouth Canteen was one of the highlights of our trip! Enjoyed Bays Topsail as well.
