Fellow beer lovers,

Ok, I know we all want to start our own breweries, but seriously, I am looking for one or two guys/gals who are prepared to put their money where there mouth is and join me in setting up a new brewery in Co. Wicklow.

For the last few months I have been getting brewery prices, looking into doing proper courses, I have arranged a 2 week internship at a Dutch brewery where the owner will allow me to brew tester brews for market research........

I know there are people out there with similar ideas and I need a likeminded, driven person/people with balls.....

I have raised €60k so far in funding which in reality, is about a third of what will be required (based on my projected startup costs).

I have located a perfect premises with 3 phase power, quality drainage, CCTV security, rural yet close to the N11 (easy access to market) and most of all reasonable rent.

Yes, I am a dreamer, but I am prepared to go the distance and hopefully one of you guys are also.

Ah living the dream. Fair play. If I had the cash right now id jump right in there.
How did you raise the funds? Have you looked into grants etc?

Being basically a flat broke student kind of disqualifies me from joining you. But best of luck and keep everyone here up to date on progress. Im sure everyone here will buy a beer or two when you make it to market.

@nigel, life savings the missus and I have and a mate with too much cash... still need lots more though...... If it does come to fruition I reckon it'll be about 9 months to 1 year......

With regard to grants, I went to the local enterprise board, the guy basically laughed at me said I was was mad to compete with the likes of Heineken etc..... He just didn't get it.
Was absolutely no help whatsoever.

I am going to talk to the leader project but am doubtful on that cos I heard that their funding is going to be reduced...
