I did not hear the show either nor did I see the TV programme where Sean was on with Joe Duffy re home brewing. I think, from second hand reports here, that both progs were of the smae focus, i.e. how to brew cheap beer. I am not a brewer, just a a fan of decent and alternative beers and I am sure most of us are more than happy to pay a fair price for a decent drink in a quality bar. As for homebrewing I concur wtth you guys fully. We should not stoop to his level. We are all above that!!!! What he does not know or appreciate is his loss!

I did not hear the show either but I saw highly recommended on rte. I think that they did overlook the pleasure and satisfaction in which a person gets out of making their own beer and the way a person can manipulate a brew to their tastes and the tastes of their friends.
I don't brew myself but I can see the benefits of doing so and the enjoyment involved.
It is a hobby and a worthwhile one and should be seen as such,
