Does anyone know where I can find any of these beers in Dublin? Offy preferably! And one of the 330ml one if at all possible!

Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout
Young's Oatmeal Stout
Maclay's Oat Malt Stout
Broughton Kinmount Willie Oatmeal Stout
Anderson Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout
Goose Island Oatmeal Stout
McAuslan Oatmeal Stout
McNeill's Oatmeal Stout
Wild Goose Oatmeal Stout

I appreciate there are other oatmeal stouts but these are the bjcp recommended ones and I'd like to go down that road if possible!

Sorry to break it to you Padraic, but I don't remember ever seeing any of those on the beer lists at work...

Sam Smith's one is excellent, I'm lucky there's a Sam Smith pub down the road from my folks' house in Durham, so I always have a good few any time I'm back home. For some reason none of the importers bring in Sam Smiths stuff at all...the brewery prioritises shipping their goods to the states I think. It's a big shame to be honest. Will try and bring you a bottle back next time I'm home.

Your best bet would be the Rogue Shakespeare Stout - plenty of that about at the moment, and there aren't too many better oatmeal stouts out there in my opinion.

Cheers,

Alex

Oh, and if there's still any Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast out there then snap it up as I'd say that is the very very best Oatmeal Stout I've ever had.

I had a bottle of that for my birthday, it's a great beer alright. I've had the Shakespeare as well, I wanted to do a small article on the stouts category of the BJCP so was looking at their recommendations. (They class Shakespeare as an "American Stout" for whatever reason)

I might just give up on trying to follow their recommended beers.

Anderson Valley Barney Flats is the one I've seen most recently. There might be a bottle or two left in the good beer off licences.

Thanks John, the drink store had it but just not on their website! (It's back up there now!)
