I'm thinking of sending an email to the VFI telling them that if this goes through, I will be cutting down my number of visits to pubs in order fund the increase in off-license prices. And I'll be advising friends and family to do the same.

I find it hard to believe that it will be taken any way seriously. But then I thought the same about closing offies at 10. <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt="" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? --> I'd say it's the LVA which gets more of your business than the VFI.

I have been following this depressing news today. Could I ask that someone (better than me!) pen a brief article (similar to what Séan has posted in the Members area regarding pre-budget submission) to our home page? I have been thinking that if anyone is wondering where Beoir stands on the issue of the so-called Lid Levy, they should see that when they land on our site. Any thoughts?

Could we get something out on facebook as well, and get everyone to share it, as this kind of news should be spread as fast as possible. People will be understandably livid with the vintners just at the thought of this. Everone with a twitter account should do the same.
