Any of ye guys know about this?

Thisisbeer.ie

Just wondering if it is an industry thing or not? Spotted Heineken prominently displayed twice. In the Beer and Food section Heineken is matched with a recipe and in the beer blog section under Ber and food 5 rules of thumb at the start of the video the camera sweeps past 2 heineken taps which were less blurred than the rest.

Am I being overly suspicious or is there something fishy about this.

Came across this due to an very obtuse add in the Sunday Indo ...

Other beers mentioned in the Food and beer section are Tiger, Paulaner and Moretti are these connected by a single comapny.

Looks very professional or at least a few quid has gone into it.

They even have "multi-sensory" tasting lined up in Cork and Dublin ... will this just be the 4 beers above to try and flog them on an unsuspecting public.

Saw a poster for it and immediately thought it was for Tiger.

It says in the contact section that it's run by Heineken too.

Yes, it's just a Heineken thing.

Previously there was the Beer Naturally[/url:3cygizvg] campaign, run by Heineken's PR firm but funded by Heineken, Diageo, Scottish & Newcastle (before Heineken ate them) and C&C. It puttered along with a couple of events and then faded away.

This Is Beer looks to be the same thing again only with Heineken going it alone. All the beers mentioned are in the Heineken Ireland portfolio. Same PR firm, a very similar website, the same sort of events and pretty similar chances of success IMO. I really don't understand why they're persisting with this.

I communicated with them in the past asking them 'Guinness is the worlds biggest stout, have you any suggested food accompaniments for this?' (Or similar)

I don't recall exactly, but about a month later I did get some class of lame-ass answer. From memory, they did not plug Guinness.

I wouldn't call it professional-looking, based on the (lack of) content. Also the questions were lame. But it was shiny, so I suppose a victory for style over substance? Dare I draw an allusion between that and the beer producer paying for it? <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

When I meant professional website I was more referring it looking like it had been set up professionally and paid for. i.e. how it looks and not the over all content. It's obvious a few quid has been spent on it.

But yes not a very insightful site.

Thought as much that it was a corporate jobbie.

Thanks guys.
