TOPIC:

I was in the Gresham hotel over the weekend having a drink with some family. They had the usual Guinness Heineken Carlsberg Smithwicks etc. So I said i'd have a Guinness. I have to say it was the worst pint of the black stuff i've had in a long time. No care taken when pouring, it lost its head in a few mins and tasted crap. So then I had a smithwicks. It looked like a pint of red lemonade, big bubbles and no head. I took it back and got bottled beer instead. You would imagine a hotel like that would be able to serve a half decent pint especially at 5.70 a pop.
Maybe my standards are too high from drinking craft beer most of the time? :-/

I was at a hotel recently for a wedding send when I asked the barman if they had anything other than the usual beer line up he told me "yes of course, we have bottles of Miller and Coors"
Nearly made me cry. At least they had decent whisky. Still it was €6.10 for a pint of Bulmers!!! Was skanked buying a round for others!

Teehee, reminds me of the last time I was in the Palace. I made sure to get my round in before we left Messrs as we were all drinking €4 "homebrew". Then Blackrock Stout on cask all round when we got to the Palace, at €6 a pop! Glad it wasn't my round!

I always get given out to for drinking 5AM Saint at €6.10 a pint in Salthouse
