I quite liked North Star and would drink it preferentially to Draught Guinness when in the south. (Sadly North Star never made it north.)

The reality is the only new types of beer Guinness can sell are even colder version of the existing Draught Guinness.

On the subject of Stouts my local independant off-licence (The Vineyard - Ormeau Raod Belfast) has a range of stouts and porters in at the moment including Samuel Smiths Imperial Stout, Samuel Smiths Old Taddy Porter, Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout, St. Peters Well Porter and St. Peters Well Stout. And they had a Smoked Porter from the Isle of Man a few weeks ago.

Good to see an off-licence promoting beer in the correct season.
