More bad news in Amsterdam: Cracked Kettle 13 years 11 months ago #1

1st the original Gollem and now the Cracked Kettle... A formerly great little beer street / alley is now empty.

A pretty sad time for beer in Amsterdam but the Beer Konig is still as busy as ever, the "Wildeman" is still fantastic and Amsterdam has for breweries so it's not all sad, but I've been in denial about Gollem for about 2 years now and I've officially moved into mourning for both Gollem and the Cracked Kettle, which always had an amazing selection of aged beers but high prices.

High prices, erratic hours and someone down the street who does what you do only better: sad to see the Cracked Kettle go but it's not totally surprising.

Cracked Kettle certainly made an art of grey market trading. I saw a Pliny the Elder just sitting on the shelf as if Russian River exports it. But like TBN said, most of what he did BierKonig does as well or better.
