Blackbrew there are alot of good brew pubs and a few good breweries to hit. As long as it isn't this week(NATO summit is in town and travel is a challenge). In Chicago there is the northside and the southside,I'm a southsider. I tend to visit all points south but I will say if you are on the northside Goose Island brewery is a must see. Then 2 good northside pubs are Fountion Head and Owen Engine both have beer engines with good pours and great selections. The only other brewery in Chicago proper is Argus brewery on the southside but they are small and are more of an invite only place(I've been to both Argus is family owned by local Irish Americans and Goose was bought up by Bud--a sad day for chicago craft beer). Two Brothers brewery is west of the city and have great beer. South is Flosemore Station and rock bottom brewery both are brewpubs rockbottom has several locations. Then of course Three Flyods is not far at all, the home of "Dark Lord" I live 30 min from the place and can't get tickets to Dark Lord Day. There is alot of good pubs too when you come in look up www.bossbeer.org it's my brew club. You can get on our list serve there is alot of festivals and the like coming up for summer. Hope this helps
Cheers Kevin!!!

Ah so ye have this thing going on in your city,as we do have here in Dublin, and no doubt in many other cities too. And in towns and in villages. Is it not amazing how we Humans can evolve to a sophisticated species, but put some beer in us and .

Just to let you know Dingle even though only about 30 miles from Tralee is nearly an hours drive. A lovely drive but mainly narrow windy roads. So that's your first consideration if your under time pressure. To be quite honest I don't know any pubs in Tralee that do in anyway a decent selection of craft beers but I've been out of the scene a while now so not sure how well the pub scene is going in Tralee these days.

Pubs to consider.

Quinlan's Bar which is only open till 6 or 7pm but is a real old style pub and worth the visit just for the experience.

Jess McCartys is another old style pub mainly frequented by Locals. Run by 2 sisters in their 70's and Pat the bar man. Don't expect a smile from him and if he looks your way he has you spotted and will get to you in his own time. If you can get your head around that you'll be fine

Otherwise for a bit of crack(fun) just follow the crowd. Abbey Inn is a lively place late at night and Sean óg's for live Irish music or Paddy Mac's for the in crowd.
