Breweries in Newcastle & Manchester do tours worth a visit? 14 years 2 months ago #1

I'm heading over to Newcastle in June to see Chris Cornell play at City Hall (8 rows from the front, in the middle! ). I will be in Newcastle fairly early, 11am, which is really too early to go drinking unless you're a student (those were happy days ), so I was thinking can anyone recommend a brewery in Newcastle that does tours?

Following morning I'm on a train to Manchester to see Pearl Jam at the Lowry, but again I'll be there a bit too early to go to the Lass O'Gowrie, so again can anyone recommend any brewery in Manchester that does tours that would be worth a look?

Pity you are not driving as I mentioned to you before,a visit to the Black Sheep Brewery in masham is worth it. They still use yorkshire stone squares as fermenting vessels.

Not sure about Newcastle.

No, he's doing the Songbook tour, so it's all acoustic stuff.

That's a brewpub, and would you believe I had planned on going there for a pint anyway, but it never occurred to me to ask for a bit of an auld tour of the brewery bit.
