Funny, but I never bother with booze during a gig. If I'm going to Vicar Streeet, I hit the B&C and have a few beers then head up to the venue. I get irritated with punters heading in and out of the bar all night during a gig.

Incidentally, the Academy on Abbey Street have "all ages" shows sometimes. So no booze and shows usually during the day.

I'm with Sean on this one... If they only serve crap I don't drink then, i don't drink.

Generally I head to gigs with my wife and neither of us drink. We generally for the music and to be honest if I had the option of the same gig with or without alcohol I'd be just as happy without the alcohol.

The town hall theatre here has no bar and seats 200. Last year a local guy ran a series of gigs (John Spillane, Gemma Hayes, Mick Flannery etc.), and they got a great reaction.(There was a complimentary glass of wine/cup of tea at the interval, but no bar.)

Last I heard he was hoping to run it again.

Even at weddings, stag nights and the other Irish events where a few drinks are consumed?

What's the difference between an Irish wedding and an Irish funeral?

One less drunk

If there's nothing else, i settle for guinness.
I actually enjoy a few pints of guinness now and again. There's a pub i go to in waterford, and their guinness is always lovely! I drink that even though they have dunG bottles .
