There's also a tiny piece in the Business page of the examiner, as per below. The information isn't great either, as they've summarised it their own way, rather than using what we provided them, so I'm not that happy with it. They have us down as a Micro brewery producer group, rathern than a consumer organistion. I doubt there is any point in asking for a correction. I can send the PDF of it to John.

Micro brewery producer group Beoir is calling for changes to
Ireland’s excise and licensing laws to assist the micro-brewing industry. In a pre-budget submission, the rganisation requested that producers of craft beer and cider be allowed sell their produce at approved farmers’ markets, as is the norm in many other countries. The submission also calls for a change to the bond the Revenue
Commissioners requires every new brewery to hold in case of excise default. “The bond is a major barrier to entry for artisan drinks producers” said Beoir chairman Séan Billings.

Its a pity they got it wrong as it puts a different spin on all that follows.
To me it reads 'Entrepreneurs looking for cheaper avenues to market'

Funny really as the first line of the submission is 'Beoir is an independent and nationwide group of consumers...'

Groh! Trying to avoid this is the main reason we changed the name from "Irish Craft Brewer".

I guess it's just unthinkable that an organisation would want the law changed from a perspective other than the direct financial one.
