Yeah, the official name is the Inland Revenue Act 1880, which isn't nearly as nice.

Roughly 10% of the grist.

No yeast specified but I'd say you could work that one out.

Hops are given as 60 minute and 10 minute only.

It does give good mash details though.

Anybody try the recipes?

I like the book, very simple, like me <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->
Re: the yeast, use whatever yeast you would be happy using for the style I guess. A dry yeast like nottingham or SO4 will work or any of the English ale liquid strains would work very well.

I've not actully made a beer direct from any of the recipes, but then again I've never made a dinner straight from a cook book either. I have taken a good bit from the recipies and am now happy with my attempts of the styles. I like English ales and would allways have a mild or bitter on offer.

It's also the book that thought me sugar is not allways bad and works well in some beers.
If it's cheap buy it!

I'd absolutely recommend the book to anyone. Graham knows his stuff and even as just a launching spot for your own recipes it's great.

Cool,
The recipes looked good (if you take the yeast question out). Might pick it up next time I see it.

I'd be slower to recommend this book. It has a lot of recipes for sure, but it's not a book that you pick up and enjoy. Do you have How to Brew and Radical Brewing? If not, I'd highly recommend them both, and available delivered to your door for ~€13 a piece from bookdepository. Great value!
