The Fionbharra on Douglas Street have had Fullers beers on cask for last couple of weeks, had a few lovely pints of ESB on cask there last Thursdasy.should be good selection of beers there and in the Bierhaus too for the week-end and most likely no jazz!!!!!!

Expect there will be one or two casks on in the Well and as Rossa say get there early!!!

Oh nice one,Cask ESB was my beer of choice while living in London all those years, lovely stuff!Granted it might not be still on when i get there but it will be my first port of call come friday eve regardless!

I will be an early riser for the Franciscan well on the saturday,This could turn out to be a seriously wonderful weekend of good boozing!

Well,I thought Id say thanks to all the posts I got regarding this as I took full advantage and managed to get to pretty much every bar mentioned. The only place with cask that weekend was the Franciscan well as they had the fest on.which was frickin' mighty! And the Bierhaus up the road.It was the first time in Cork that I went out on the prowl for good beer and I really enjoyed it.Loads of bars had the Franciscan well stuff which I was well happy about.Had some hobgoblin in the Bierhaus for a sweetly €3 a pint, granted it was towards the end of its life but was still quiet lovely. Also had some lovely cask at the well.Had some fullers beers which were lovely and a few others. There seems to be a few fullers casks about the country these days, never seen them here before, now there's a small invasion,no harm at all says he.
The abbot ale house was a cool place with nice beers, whiskeys and people.Managed to get a seat at the bar for an evening and enjoyed myself too much with some lovely headless dog on tap and a few bottles from that fridge! <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

It's nice to hear of someone out and about in Cork and enjoying the beer! Thanks for the feedback Step Hen!

And I too was wondering about the Fullers casks appearing in Ireland; I had a nice cask pint of London Pride in Against the Grain last night.

I went into Fionnbarra's last weekend. The hand pump is well hidden, but while Hobgoblin wouldn't be a particular favourite it was fantastic to get cask, and in great condition, so close to home. Thanks for the recommendation Ger Cork!
