Cask in Cork City 14 years 6 months ago #1

Hey,
I'm heading down to Cork city for the holiday weekend and was just wondering if there were any places that serve cask beer.I see the Franciscan Well have the Oktoberfest on that weekend, anybody reckon there will be cask there?I'm looking forward to trying the Shandon Extra Stout there too!

There was an English cask at the Octoberfest the last two years. Doombar one year and I can't remember what the other. The Bierhaus and the Abbot have been known to have casks from time to time but not as a regular thing.

That'll be the Jazz weekend? Try Brú on MacCurtain Street, they sometimes have cask at festival time (they had Emerald from White Gypsy on Paddys day last).

At The last jazz fest I went to the Abbot ale house had a stout on cask. Beautiful it was too. I think it was Shandon. Ring around. I sometimes do that when in cork. Saves all the leg work.

FYI get into the Well early if heading there....any later than 4 on Sat and you will certainly be waiting in line.
