I was absolutely amazed and delighted to find a perfect 1st edition (1942) of "The Practical Brewer" in "Powell's City of Books" (the largest new and used book store in the world) in Portland, Oregon 2 weeks ago. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="

This is the first professional brewing text published in America and is now in it's 3rd revision and is still the "go-to" text for most professional brewing programs in the US.
It's kinda nerdy but I was SUPER excited to find a first edition and at 20 Euros it was steal. -It's about 1/4 the length of the 3rd edition (I've got it too) and has some amazing hand-drawings and pictures of old brewing equipment. -Some brewer has taken notes in pencil in the margins at some point in the book but I have no idea who previously owned it.
It's a snapshot of early 20th century industrial brewing in America.
