Best value places for Irish craft beer? 14 years 9 months ago #1

This is kind of inspired by Reuben's earlier thread about leaving a bottle of beer in with the nappies in Tesco because it was too expensive.

Irish Craft Beer doesn't have to be expensive. Far from it, and I'd hate to think brewers were being hard done by because punters were felt there was Celtic Tiger style price-gouging going on... which, let's face it, still happens.

So to kick it off, I'd like to nominate:

Licensed Premises:-
====================
Lucan County Bar:
- Galway Hooker (pint) €3.80
- Dark Arts (pint) €3.50
- Trouble Ór €3.50
(- O'Hara's Stout €3.15 but no longer available)

Messrs Maquire
- All house beers €4.00 a pint

Off-licenses
================
Lucan County Bar:
- Galway Hooker 500ml bottle €2.59
Superquinn:
- 6 x various bottles (330ml-500ml) for €12
Next Door Sundrive Rd
- 5 x various bottles (330ml-500ml) for €10

McHugh's Off Licences (Kilbarrack Road and Malahide Road, both D5) do 4-for-€10 and 5-for-€10 deals all the time. (They're on my way home from work so you'll generally find me there at 6ish on a Friday, browsing happily <!-- s:-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:-) -->
