off to see rodger daltery today so i had to choose a pre concert pub for a few pints. the gig being on in Marley Park I decided to get the number 16 bus there. once i relised the route of the 16 bus there was only one choice. against the grain camden st.
i went to college in kevin st DIT over 5 years ago and knew the camden st area fairly well. the premsis in question changed name and style at least 4times in the space of 2.5 years. this is not a good sign for any new business, however I understand that this pub has been going strong since last year.
upon entering around 4pm i was greeted by a empty pub and a busy barman dealing with phone calls and laptop business. however he was more than happy to answer any questions i had and serve me beers in a timely fashon.
the beers themselves were fantastic. oharas,galway hooker, druim, 8 degrees gale ale, sierra nevada, dark arts porter and more on tap as well as dozens of bottles of beer and even more whiskey clearly priced and well displayed. i really cannot fault the slection or price.
draught beers €5 or under with the special €4 a nice beer i forget the name of. they also did a cask ale (dungarvin) however i was advised that it needed a little time to rest before enjoying at its best.
no Guinness or heinkien <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="

by 6pm the pub had filled up nicely with a diverse crowd who all seemed to be enjoying themselves.
this place is well worth a visit.
