right i know its not a craft brewery what with heinken owning it but on a recent visit to the peoples republic of Cork, I as usuall try'd to drink local. unfortunitly due to hectic plans and the fact i was staying outside the city i did not get a chance to visit either the franciscan well or the bierhaus <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt="

so in the hotel bar with swmbo and the kids asleep i decided to compare the three stouts available Murphys, bemish and guinness.
my conclusion is that murphys is the easiest to drink not bitter, lovely coffie type smokey nice mouthfeel next the guinness (my usuall non good pub drink) was same old same old but seemed to have carbonation that i never even relised was there until i compared the two.
next came bemish much more like guinness less of those coffee type smokey hints that the murphys had.
result was Murphies was the winner but no plain porter (from poterhouse)
