Hi All,

I've been contacted by a couple of lads in Galway who are planning a beer festival in the Black Box on October 20. Sounds like it'll be good craic and they have lots of experience in event management and that sort of thing, although they haven't done a beer festival before. I think it will be organised along the lines of the Fran Well Fest, but they're hoping to get more imported beers (bottled presumably).

I'm thinking about brewing a double Hooker for the festival (double the bitterness and abv), which should nicely separate the men from the boys!!!

Also, I'd like to organise a BBQ, brewery tour and tasting session in the brewery in Roscommon before the winter hits. Will you let me know if there's interest and we can agree on a date and how it'd work. I was thinking that we could start in the brewery, have some food, fun and beer and they I'd organise a bus into Galway and we could continue the evening from there.

Finally, I'm just back from the Hilden Beer Festival in Lisburn, which was a great success and had many great cask beers available. Congrats to Owen and Seamus!!

I think you could safely say there'd be definite interest in the brewery tour, BBQ and tasting! And the fest in Galway sounds excellent too, not least because of the chance of a double Hooker. Any idea of dates? And if there's anything we can do to help out, just shout.

I'm open to doing it whenever people like. Perhaps a Friday or Saturday in September. Alternatively, we could also look at tying it in the same weekend as the festival.

Also, I forgot to mention that the organisers have asked me to offer you a stand at the festival, something like what CAMRA have at the GBBF, so you can promote the site and encourage more membership.

Ah well, I'll have to make up for it some how... maybe a weekend in Antwerp or Munich

I'm there too. A Saturday would suit me better. Any Saturday besides the eighth, that is.
