Heineken seem to have finally
put the <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="www.Beamish.ie">www.Beamish.ie website up live

they even have the recipe there
Beamish Malt, Roast Malt, Malted Wheat Bittering Hops, Aroma Hops and Beamish Yeast.

Looks like they are actually committed to the brand in some way ......

I don't think Beamish has dropped in popularity at all, and might even have increased, as there seems to be a lot of people drinking it, or maybe that's just people I know. I think it's a good alternative to Murphys, because If I wasn't drinking Beamish I would be drinking Guiness. Maybe they will keep it going, and it's possible for a huge brewery to make more than one of a style.

Cheers,
Billy.

First disingenuous statement comes in sentence two:
[quote:dd79w0hz]Today Beamish Stout is brewed on site in our Cork brewery[/quote:dd79w0hz]It's left up to you to infer who the "our" is, or you can read it in the small grey print at the bottom of the page.

It's a pretty sparse site. I wouldn't say it represents much of a commitment to the brand, to be honest.

I must say Beamish is still my beer of choice in regular bars - at a pretty good price in most locations too - I usually pay 3.30 a pint so you can't knock that!!

Is it me or has Beamish improved in taste in the last while? I had my first pint of it 20 years ago and I don't remember it tasting as good as it does now.

A nearby pub has gotten rid of O'Hara's Stout and replaced it with Beamish. It seems to sell fairly well.

Talking to ken in drinkstore the other night he said the pub across the street was now charging €3 for beamish. I've noticed a lot of pubs doing one discounted draught beer for the price sensitive customers and keeping others at regular prices for the brand loyal customers. Apart from beamish, I've seen paulaner, grolsch and fosters discounted.
