Best of luck Brian, you'll find a whole load of new adventures out there, including plenty of new beers to taste. Get down to Dunedin and check out Emersons range, some awesome beers there. IIRC there are plenty of homebrew shops around NZ too, certainly in Oz there are. And if all else fails you can of course learn a new hobby, like skydiving, or whitewater rafting or something
Oh and of course they also have a couple of almost-passable rugby teams around the country too, so you could easily switch from being an Allez le Bleus to an Auckland Blues supporter
Take it handy.

A word of advice: New Zealand observes the same road rules as Ireland except that at an intersection vehicles turning left have to yield to oncoming vehicles crossing the traffic and turning right (from their perspective) into the same road. So quickly whipping round the corner is a big no no! I think it's going to be changed soon, but at the moment it's still the law.

Well, needs must when the devil drives.

There are some great hops grown in New Zealand, so you should be able to get your homebrew fix without too much trouble.
