The Copper Bar in Sandyford has been open almost a week now. It's just at the front of Beacon South Quarter, in a pitch that had a previous restaurant for just a few months before it closed.
Although they emphasise their craft beer selection ('over 30') unfortunately its almost entirely macro on tap from what I could see - although they do have Leffe blond.
The craft range is the bottled selection. From a Beoir POV I saw they have Trouble Brewing Or and one or two others (I think 8 Degrees and a couple of ciders). After that it's international - quite a lot of Belgian offerings (Westmalle, Duvel, Leffe), U.S (Goose Island, Anchor Steam, Sierra Nevada) and a few bits and bobs from elsewhere.
The beer menu is mixed enough that I can't ream it off, sorry - meant to take a snap of it, maybe next time.
In food terms they've got quite a big menu also - a pizza list, then after that sort of smart bites and planks... Mini sliders, a grilled meat plank, risoto balls and whatnot. We tried the pork and apple sliders, which were amazing, and also the meat plank, which is pretty much a gourmet mixed grill (fat sausages, a few chops, some really good black pudding etc).
A word of warning: They're still working out some serious kinks due to just having opened. The staff are friendly, enthusiastic but apparently inexperienced for the most part. The food came tepid, we had no cutlery, and the bill took about 20 minutes to arrive because no-one could make the card machine work. We weren't pissed off, really, because it was clear that they were doing their best and it was just opening week hiccups. I think in a fortnight or so all the issues we had will not happen (I hope!).
