In Hebrew B, G, D, K, P and T (the "begadkephat letters") all aspirate, though only B and P have alternative letters in English for the aspirated form these days. Since the invention of movable type we lost T's aspirated form Þ. Which brings me on to my huge pet hate of "[i:3r2opjct]Ye[/i:3r2opjct] Olde" things. That's a Þ not a Y goddammit!
The first movable type sets came from the continent, Germany usually. They didn't have Þ, so the English typesetters substituted Y because a Gothic German Y looks sort-of like it.
