Hops: people & info needed for radio programme 15 years 9 months ago #1

Hello All

Fantastic site.

I'm doing a bit of research on the history of hops in Ireland for a radio programme and wonder if any of you could help.

1. I'd like to talk to anyone who grows hops today (however small the crop).

2. I'm keen to hear from older farmers who may remember growing hops on a commercial scale in the past, or anyone with memories of a time when it was grown commercially.

Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated..

my email is <!-- e --><a href="This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.">This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Thanks in advance

Hi Elle. It would be well worth your while getting in touch with Cuilan Loughnane of White Gypsy brewery in Templemore, if you haven't already. He is the only commercial hop grower in the country, as far as I know, and knows a lot about the history of the market.
