Lidl Ale? 15 years 11 months ago #1

Anyone try the 2 ales Lidl had in thurs 10th.
I'm sampling there now and am pleasently suprised.

Shepherd Neame Goldings and 4-4-2.
Wasn't expecting much (1.49 each) but I'm enjoying them, more so the 4-4-2, would definatly buy again at the price.

Not bad when you're throwing toghether a Pizza

same old same old....shepherds neames beers do nothing for me

I found the goldings pretty crap to be honest, way to thin.
The 4-4-2 is a little better but still way too thin, and for a beer that says it uses 10 different hops, a major letdown!!! Not much of a citrus hop flavour as the label would suggest! Ok but I wouldn't be mad about it.

Both a bit meh for me.

I reckon any beer with that many hop additions is just wasting hops / arsing around . I wouldn't even be arsed buying one , one look at the bottle and I figured they were just being gimmicky.
