History of extreme beers 15 years 11 months ago #1

Posted on /.[/url:3pnh3m8q], here's[/url:3pnh3m8q] a history of the recent trend towards 50% ABV beers

Interesting to see what Georg thinks. But I'm wondering what he's on about saying that BrewDog work with Belgian breweries and based some of their strong beers on Belgian recipes "Both Brewdog and Revelation Cat have used Belgian-based beers in their best efforts". Did I miss something?

It sounded like he was referring to their recent world record attempts and that they often use Belgian-types as a basis.

Have a Divine Rebel in the cellar. And some beer too... Boom boom!

No, I think he means that BrewDog and Revelation Cat are familiar with Belgian-style brewing, linking it to strong-beer brewing in general, and leading into the suggestion that an actual Belgian brewery might like to join in the daft contest. Tactical Nuclear Penguin is an imperial stout and Sink the Bismark is a Double IPA. No Belgian ancestry here.

Yep. I've stopped following it since he doesn't need me to help publicity any more
