TOPIC:

Looking for representative photos/images... 16 years 19 hours ago #1

As part of the migration to the new site, we're thinking of making some of the featured items more prominent on the home page. To make these stand out, I'm looking for photos any of you might have that would be good representatives for:

Irish craft beer producers (the breweries! )
Pubs that stock Irish craft beer
Irish craft beer in general, and Beoir

Interpret those as you wish, and if you have a photo or image you'd be willing to donate, that'd be great. Get as arty as you like, or stay pragmatic, I don't mind as long as we can get some beautiful images to tart up the site

There's no prize, no credit, just a warm fuzzy feeling that you're helping promote the cause

I nearly did a 3d laser scan of The Bull and Castle (I was across the road in the cathedral at the time)...

Let me look in my repository and I'll email you anything I have.

What the heck is a "3D laser scan"?!? Is that just made up craziness or does such a thing actually exist?

It is used for designing etc, I know coz I looked it up when he posted it.

Not sure if he meant that or if he just means he took so many photos one day that he could construct one

It's one of these jobbies: [url:3vyx3dfl]http://hds.leica-geosystems.com/en/Leica-ScanStation-C10_79411.htm[/url:3vyx3dfl]

It fires out a continous laser beam while rotating 360 degrees (vertically and horizontally). The software back in the office renders this information into a 3D "point cloud". Here's an example of a job I did in Ballycastle, North Antrim last week:
